Top 5 “Battles”

#5 Usopp Vs Luffy

“The Battle For Merry”

While this might not be the longest or the flashest battle but it is defiantly one of the most moving battles ever witnessed. The raw emotions felt through this battle are so real that you can forget that these two are mere drawing on a paper but actual people. The bravery Usopp showed before, during and after the battle is beyond him, he was so filled with emotion towards the Going Merry that he was so oblivious to his actions. He not only left his comrades but he challenged his best friend to a duel. I do not know if Usopp was right in going all the way of abandoning one friend for the other is right, but I can defiantly understand the emotions he was going through at that moment. For the raw emotion shown in this battle caused Ussop vs Luffy to earn my number 5 spot.

#4 The Strawhat Pirates Vs Oars

“The Battle of Giants”

Unlike pick #5 this battle is very flashy and filled with action. In fact, it is one of the longest battles other than the Marine War. This battle pushed the Strawhats to their outer limits that when it was finally done with more than half of the crew could no longer stand on their own. Luffy for instance was so exhausted that he barely made it to live another day. But one thing about this battle that stands out so much, is the workmanship between the Strawhats. They did not need to communicate or plan out their plans before, they trusted each others skills and where one is lacking the other helps out. For the workmanship the Strawhats proved in this battle earned it my number 4 spot.

#3 Sanji Vs Jyabura

“The Battle of Men”

This battle put Sanji on the top. We know that Sanji was and is one of the strongest member of the Strawhats, but we never seen him pushed so far to the point where he develops a new move that will be his signature style. Deciding his nickname and his bounty for him. Also, it is one of the few battles where the two combatants are solely using their body as a weapon, not using a weapon (even though Jyabura was a Zoan Devil Fruit user, he was solely using his body as a weapon). The other decisive thing that happened in this battle is the fact that Sanji confessed that Usopp is more cunning, be he is stronger than Usopp, in doing so making the famous speech of “you can do what I can’t and I can do what you can’t.” For the awesome moves Sanji pulls of in this battle and his nature to admit that he is not perfect earns this battle of #3 on the spot.

Zoro Vs Mr.1

“Cutting Steel”

There is no doubt in my mind that anyone who is a One Piece fan, will have one of Zoro’s battles as his favorite. Probably the most hyped character and earns his spot light splendidly. Every time he fights the battle field is marked by the stench and view of his and his enemies blood. The signature battle scene of  Zoro is that at the end of the battle there is blood all over the place, be it his or his enemies blood. Zoro losses so much blood that by this time his body can probably produce enough blood to transfer for a whole village. Nonetheless, Zoro is the personification of awesome, he is the sort of character that you enjoy watching because he can make you laugh when he is brotherly fighting Sanji and he can awe us when he is fighting formidable foes like Mr.1. So for being one of the most epic character in One Piece that goes against impossible odds like cutting steel earns this battle my number 2 spot.

#1 Luffy Vs Rob Lucci

“The Battle of Beasts”

If you are a regular One Piece fan and I hope you are, than you will know that this pick is no surprise. No battle has been more desperate, shocking and aw inspiring than the battle between Luffy and Lucci. First of all it is a battle between two of the most bizarre yet epic characters. Luffy’s guffiness mixed in with his serious will power to do the impossible, while on the other corner we have the deadly claim assassin Rob Lucci. Lucci has done something that no other One Piece villain has achieved yet till this day, pushing Luffy so far to the brink of death without being a Logia. If you fallow all the main villains Luffy had to fight most of them that gave him a hard time were Logia Devil Fruit users and at the time Luffy did not know how to fight them. But Lucci is the only non-Logia that pushed Luffy so that he brought his best game and he only won by a marginal point. For being the most jaw dropping, nail biting, edge of the seat battle, this battle earns to be my number 1 battle of all time.
